Quick, easy and very tasty and better than most restaurant keemas. Has become a regular meal in this house served with either rice, vegetable curry or on top of an Indian roti and sometimes all three. Well done chef.

Do you think it would work with your recipe Nicky?

Lovely and simple. I made 2 minor changes, I used ketchup in place of the tomato puree and ground ginger in place of the fresh stuff. 20%fat beef mince, most fat drained off. Remainder used to cook the onions etc. Got 1 large portion plus 2 portions for the freezer. Will make this again. Not too spicy but may try a hotter curry powder next time.

I took this to mean leave the beef oil in the pan, add the ghee to it and proceed with cooking the onion etc. However my beef didn’t have a lot of oil, so if yours did it could be a bit to much. 🙂

Reply to Stuart…. I read it as save the mince til later, not the oil.

I think chickpeas could work well…. I guess you could just leave the peas out.

Hi,Nicky, compliments to Chris as I have just made this for a quick tea and must admit it was delicious, added a bit of chilli as we like a bit of heat and it was a winner all round
Thank you (and Chris)
